Skills :
Should be very good in Computer Architecture, with good exposure to Hardware, BIOS, and Firmware layers. Should have good understanding of Hypervisors (ESX/ESXi architecture), networking and storage subsystems. Should have hands-on exposure to VMware ESX/ESXi server and vCenter Server, good understanding of other virtualization technologies will be a plus. Must have good analytical skills to trouble shoot technical issues. Should have solid written and verbal communication skills. Experience involving day-to-day interaction with distributed teams would be an added advantage. Knowledge of System Management tools will be a plus. Should have 1-3 years of experience in the software/hardware industry. Should be an engineering graduate in Electronics & Communication/Computer Science.
Description :
Setup the test bed as per the hardware configuration matrix for the release consisting of platforms, peripherals, add-on cards etc and then install required software like firmware, BIOS, OS etc. Perform validation and/or certification as per the Test Strategy / Plan. Troubleshoot system/component issues (Hardware/Software). Characterize and provide support in Root Cause Analysis of the defects on multiple VMware ESX/ESXi versions. Provide adequate technical details to the internal and external teams to substantiate the findings and provide support in issue resolution. Build rapport with the vendors and the teams at Dell. Work in coordination with the teams to achieve engineering objectives. Study new technologies offered by Dell and share the knowledge with team members through presentations. Assist other Dell teams, as and when needed to resolve OS issues. Keep track of developments in the Virtualization technologies, use the knowledge to train and improve the internal processes.
